National Collection of Yeast Cultures
About NCYC
Mission:
The NCYC collects and preserves a wide variety of yeast cultures with applications in industry and academia; research at NCYC has shed new light on yeast evolution and genetic interrelationships and resulted in novel tools for identifying and characterising yeasts. Yeast cultures are available to researchers in a variety of forms, and the tools NCYC has developed are available as services. The NCYC aims to grow both the collection and its know-how in order to provide the most comprehensive representation and understanding of yeast biodiversity available, and to supply such materials and knowledge to industry and academia in an equitable and efficient manner.
