Strain Information

  • Information

Noted as being acetic acid tolerant. The species Pichia galeiformis and Pichia manshurica have identical 26S rDNA D1/D2 sequences and display a high degree of nDNA relatedness. Consequently this has led to the former species (i.e. P. galeiformis) being reduced to a synonym of the latter (i.e. P. manshurica). This strain was originally listed in the NCYC catalogue with the incorrect name Pichia mandshurica.
